Subject Focus Days

Subject Focus Days (SFD) are designed to deepen students’ understanding of what they have been studying in class, or to explore an area of the curriculum that the regular timetable would not allow for. They allow us to do something different, or in more depth than we could otherwise do in an hour long lesson. As such, there is one day allocated to each option block in Key Stage Four for consistency of experience where a subject is in more than one block.

At Key Stage Three, SFD are designed for the core subjects (occasionally working with available option teachers) teams to deliver whole-day, inclusive-to-all sessions. These could involve outside agencies visiting the school, carousel activities, workshops, trips etc…

2018/2019 Subject Focus Days will take place on:

  • Tuesday 6 November
  • Wednesday 6 March
  • Thursday 2 May
  • Friday 28 June

The headteacher, leadership team and other senior leaders set very high expectations for the school. They have established an ethos that encourages and supports good behaviour, attitudes and learning. (Ofsted 2015)
