The school council elections will be taking place during the week commencing 5 October.
School council is led by the Year 11 senior students. Years 7 – 10 students who wish to stand for election need to create a presentation or speech to deliver, explaining why they should be selected to school council. More information will be shared with students by their tutors over the coming week.
Participating in school council gives students a chance to develop their leadership and oracy skills, and to work closely with students in other year groups. Our school council organise campaigns and awareness days, put on fundraising events and contribute to the development of the school.
In recent years for instance, they have been involved in developing our oracy and pedagogy strategies, have staged a Colour Run for Pride Month and have collected food for our local foodbank.
