Year 10 Students who have a passion for mathematics and/or are starting to think about taking maths at A Level should consider taking the Further Mathematics course which is starting this term.
Further Mathematics is a Level 2 Certificate qualification (equivalent to a GCSE). The content of the course extends concepts which students have seen in their GCSE maths classes but also includes some completely new topics (matrices and calculus) which are studied in more detail at A Level.
Most students who have taken the course in the past have sat the Further Maths exams but students are still welcome to attend the course but not take the exams at the end. Classes are held once a week at lunchtime.
