Over the next two weeks, we will be electing our School Council for 2025-26.
This committee will comprise Head Students and Senior Prefects in Year 11 plus one tutor group representative from each of the tutor groups in Years 7 to 10. Being on the School Council provides an opportunity for students to learn and develop many important leadership skills as well as working with school leaders to improve the lived experience of all students in the school. All students have been emailed with a short presentation explaining how to apply and giving them all the information that they need. Please do watch it with them and encourage them to put themselves forward to be their Tutor Group’s representative. Even if they are ultimately unsuccessful, they will be able to develop many skills through their application.
To apply, they firstly need to fill out a Microsoft Form that is linked in their email. This needs to be done by 3.30pm on Friday 10 October. They will then need to prepare a presentation (either a speech, a PowerPoint or a poster) to explain, to the rest of their tutor group, why they would be a good representative. These presentations will be shared the week beginning 13 October and will be followed by a Tutor Group ballot to select a representative.
It would be wonderful to see lots of applications so please do encourage your children to apply.
