Year 8 students had an extraordinary opportunity this week when astronaut Chris Sembroski visited ICC to share the story of his real‑life space mission. Students were captivated as he spoke about his journey, the challenges of life in space, and the importance of teamwork and resilience. They also enjoyed the chance to ask their own questions, including the ever‑popular query about how astronauts manage everyday tasks such as going to the toilet in space!
This memorable session offered students a rare insight into space exploration and the pathways that can lead to a career in STEM.
We extend our sincere thanks to Chris Sembroski for giving his time so generously, and to parent Sam McKee for organising such an inspiring experience for our young scientists.
