The Behaviour Curriculum

  • As a community, we recognise the rights and responsibilities of all individuals within the school and believe that positive relationships are the key to positive behaviour.
  • Ultimately, our aim is to support our students to become emotionally intelligent, self-disciplined individuals who are well-mannered, show respect for teachers, are good communicators and have a strong sense of social responsibility to ensure they can be positive and active members of the community.
  • Learning, teaching and behaviour are inextricably interlinked. Teachers have a commitment to deliver high quality teaching and have an entitlement to teach undisrupted lessons. Students at Icknield have a commitment to learn and have an entitlement to learn in disruption-free spaces.
  • We believe that delivery of a high-quality curriculum with consistent pedagogical practice and a focus on building strong relationships, leads to excellent learning, co-operative, positive behaviour and creates happy and successful young people.
  • Our school values of Integrity, Care and Commitment are an integral part of how we communicate our expectations. The Behaviour Curriculum sets out clearly the behaviours, routines and habits we expect of all students, underpinned by these values. It is the foundation upon which we build excellent progress, establish the most positive climate for learning and ensure that appropriate additional provision is available at the right time for those students who may need support to fulfil their potential.
