Food & Nutrition Fundamentals
| Year 7 Creative Arts begins with a highly practical unit in which students learn to use the essential equipment of food preparation such as knives, blenders, grill, hob and oven. They create healthy and varied food items including fruit skewers, smoothies, pancakes, cookies and cinnamon buns. Textiles Tie-dye cacti | Students explore colour blending and forms of 'resist' dyeing before completing their sewing machine induction. They study the work of artist Sian Keegan as a starting point for their own 3D tie-dye cacti. Key knowledge developed:
